Inauguration of the new President should take place now!

I am shocked and angry as a proud American at the events that have taken place at the Capitol building in Washington D.C. This unprecedented violence is unacceptable and all the rioters should be assessed along with those who aided and abetted them. The difference between Joe Biden and trump can't be more clear. Mr.Biden's speech should be on the list of great speeches and should be memorized by generations of Americans alongside the Gettysburg Address. We need to take action and inaugurate Mr.Biden Now, no more waiting.

The law that we've followed for generations says we must. Speaches sound good, but it's talk. Actions are what matter. Barking orders won't work, there's a process that needs followed.

There is already a House member who is drawing up the articles of impeachment as we speak.

@pjmurphy I completely agree. Anyone who has been involved should be arrested and charged with treason.

We need to make some arrests, asap. Don't know why they're letting them just walk away. They're domestic terrorists.

What about Antifa and Black Lives Matter on the Democrat side. Remember all the violence they did last summer? Shouldn't they also be classified as domestic terrorists and arrested?

@pjmurphy This was the first time since 1814 that there has been invaders into the Capitol Building. It was during a Constitutional mandated voting process. That is what makes it so horrifying. All the members of the Government were there, except for Mr. Trump, he skedalled back into hiding. If the invaders had succeeded, it would have been a coup. I hold Mr. Trump personally responsible.

First we need to know if these were actually Trump supporters. Secondly, unprecedented violence? Really? What I see so far is very little and yet few batter an eye at the real violence that taken place over the last months.

Whether they were 'Trump supporters' or not, they were very clearly intent on subverting the due process of democracy and, moreover, were incited and encouraged to do so by Trump himself. The rioters may have been a small and very vocal element when compared to the silent majority of Republicans and Democrats - both - who have been shocked and disturbed by this incident but the whole of America should hang its head in shame for allowing this to happen.

@Namelesss Yes, thank goodness, we should be able to breathe a little easier now that Trump has said that the changeover will be orderly. As Admin of a rather small social media site, however, I have to consider Facebook and Twitter's actions carefully!

@GoAskAlice Yes and it falls directly in the laps of all of our politicians, the courts and media. The peaceful protestors had every right to be there. They broke no laws unlike the rioters and looters that have been doing so for months and given free passage to do so. Yes Trump incited half of America to stand for their rights and freedoms and fight for them. But he did not incite violence and that is something all but the 'too far gone' supporters understood completely. He and obviously half the country see the marxist communist regime on the horizon if they don't learn stand up. But it's over, we can all breathe now, at least for a while.

You are right, it looks like nothing will happen and we have to pray that there is no more violence. In the meantime I hope that security will be a lot rougher on Jan 20th!

The suggestion of this, on its whole, is unAmerican. We have a process, and we have a Constitution. I have condemned, and strongly, the events that happened on the capitol. But I have also suggested it is ridiculous and silly to suggest that the president had anything to do with what happened. He called for supporters to march. Not breach. To show their support, not protest. I think people need to turn off the news and turn ON their brains.
