We are looking for a place before,I mean a room/apartment or independent house to live.
My husband use to call the number we got online, then they will ask if he will live alone. He said family,,I rebuked him,I said you should not say family because they will be expecting we have kids.
I said to hubby, you should say husband and wife only.
And he responded me,it's the same..it's a family.
What is your opinion mylotters?

I think you can be considered family without kids.

In this particular instance it would have been better it was clearly stated as husband and wife as family would mean also kids.

maybe he can say, "family, husband and wife, no kids yet" so it's complete and specific.

@rhuenz so the owners have an idea how many people and if they will be noisy (because of children) or if they will have visitors (friends, relatives)

Family can mean anything from kids to parents. It can also mean your significant other. I think it's the same.
