I need some gum so I can try a mini-fast

My weight has been creeping up slowly Sometimes I feel rather lowly I'm back in my bed Not because of something said But to stop me becoming rollie-poley In actuality, I've been losing some weight From food through the years that I ate Keto foods for me is perfect No longer am I in conflict I now watch what I put on my plate I may have written these lines in a comment on one of Janet's discussions. I was going to write in the beginning of December about wondering whether fun would help me stay away from eating incorrectly but then I never did anything about it. Over time gum could make my jaw hurt but I'm not allowed to chew while at work. I bought some last night and plan on starting today right after I have my two cups of coffee with someone here. I gained weight at Christmas and then lost it almost right away but the last week I've been gaining almost every day. It's those pesky carbs. So I'm going to try eating one meal per day for awhile and cheese gum if I'm hungry while doing the partial-fast. I'll share what's on my menu on my next post if anyone wants to join me for those. If you've not clue what I'm talking about the details are in my last post. Do you now or have you in the past either chewed gum or done any fasting?

Hope that helps you. We all tend to go on a feasting mode during holidays and celebrations. And we need to come back to track in time. I have never tried these chewing gums. My weighing scale is fixed in last one decade. Being a diabetic, no fasting for me. Though at times I indulge in feasting in moderation

If you are a moderate feaster that's good then. My husband is also diabetic and if I eat what he can eat that's the culprit for my weight gain at present.

@MarshaMusselman We all tend to go overboard with moderation and other discipline around food. But as long as we keep a track and come back to our healthy diet, it should be okay.

@arunima25 that's what I'm trying to do. I thought I was doing decently but the pounds keep creeping up. This far may only be this week or a few days or a few days per week. I just have to say no to carbs as much as possible.

I never chewed gums, mom did not let me, it's not polite, growing up I never did to avoid to take a bad habit and chew in public.

@MarshaMusselman I remember when I went to school, if we were caught chewing a gum we were suspended. I checked my weight this morning, I gained nothing during the holidays, that is a good thing.

@LadyDuck somewhere or sometime along the way manners and etiquette most have gotten back for Americans as we sell a lot of gum here. This will be the first I'm trying it again for probably about ten or more years but I'll probably only have it on my breaks and lunch at work. Not necessarily all day long.

My daughter does intermittent fasting. I don't chew gum these days I have crowns and anything that might be sticky is a no-no.

I have several crowns too but the gum hasn't ever affected them.

I wish you well on your diet. I chew gum at times just because I enjoy it. I don't fast except for our one high holy day.Basically, I don't eat more than my body can burn.

I did well losing when I was stuck on my bed the first two weeks off work last month with my foot wrapped. It hurt too much to get up and prepare food but it went slowly up after that. I was ten pounds lighter when I saw my Dr two weeks ago but have gained since. So only need to lose five pounds currently and then another three before taking stock.

Fasting does not work for me. I can't skip any meals. I do chew gum, but get a headache if I chew for long.

Sometimes chewing gum makes my jaws ache so I'll have to keep an eye out to minimize that. I've dated before mostly by accident so I'll see how well that idea even works.

I got juicy fruit which I've not had in many years. I hope it's still good. What's in your menu for the week so I can join you for one of your meals figuratively or virtually?

I prefer not to chew gum. I'll feel bloated afterwards. I just control what I eat these days.

Your doing good then with controlling what you're eating. I thought I was but the pounds keep creeping up so I need to get drastic if even for a little bit.

No, I've never chewed any gum but watch what I put in my tum, it's best to do that to stop getting fat or else I would end up quite glum.

I'm back in the weight losing game too. Between Covid and the holidays I've put on a few more pounds than I'd like. I'm back to cutting back on sugar and carbs and adding more protein and greens. I think gum is a good alternative to snacking as it keeps your mouth busy.
