Lack of Democracy, lack of civility, anarchy or sheer insanity?

As I write this, the news is not a brand new. Some people might have posted on this topic here already.
Well I am talking about a group of Pro-Trump supporters storming the Capitol Hill in Washington DC, and special forces coming in to protect the Senators and other public elected representatives.
There were a few loss of lives too.
The situation took some time to control but left some damage to the premises.
More than that, it has dented the image of US as a democratic country.
What many International Institutions (incidentally many based in US)talk about other countries(including some events in India)happened in US and that too in a presumably heavily fortified(or was it really was??)
capital city.
Perhaps time has come to drop the ancient terminologies of Third world, First world etc.
Yet what I want to convey is that all this sounded sheer insanity, civility or perhaps anarchy.
And yes, somewhere the democracy too has lost.
Protest is fine, but when protesters become so enraged to think of taking lives, well it is a kind of a battle or even war. So somewhere it is something that needs to be pondered over.
So what do you folks say?

Truthfully, I don't think anyone really expected the loss of life. And yes, changes are happening already. the heads of the capital police, the heads of security for the Senate and House of representatives have already lost their jobs, others will follow. Plans are being made to fortify the building to keep it from happening again.
Joe Biden's inauguration is supposed to happen right there on the steps of the building these insurrectionists took over. People are already screaming about security concerns. So who knows what will happen from here.
After four years of our President fanning the flames of hate, division, racism, and phony fraud this attack wasn't totally unexpected. That the police were not fully prepared, was a big surprise.

Yes it is some surprise as to why the security got breached. Had the security agencies become too lax or were they expecting all people who were protesting to remain calm and peaceful?

Hmm..investigations would reveal more and some facts might be hidden from public view.
Such a thing is almost impossible in India, as we have faced the brunt of terror attacks over the years and our Parliament and most state assembly buildings have heavy fortification with multiple security layers.

Yes indeed. A much tougher situation than when his predecessors got charge of the office.

Yes a tough task for Biden. The current anarchy, he increasing divisiveness in Politics plus the continuing horrible Covid situation- cases + deaths.
Countries with much worse Health Infrastructure have managed better than US in managing Covid.
May be some public awareness plus upcoming vaccines would help.

I was shocked by the disgraceful display by those protestors. My opinion would have them all in jail for what occurred on Wednesday.
I'm not surprised the world is talking about what went on here. It should never have gotten that far out of hand that the mob got into the Capitol building and forced their way onto the House floor.
In our Bill of Rights, we are allowed a peaceable assembly. That wasn't peaceful.

I say it's really sad that the whole world is watching and that President Trump is an embarrassment to this country.

Yes a sad state of affairs and something that would perhaps make people think of preventing such chaotic scenes in the future.
