A young girl shows her heart of compassion for a homeless man

I really like the way that 12 year old girl Mikayla thinks in terms of requesting donations for her birthday to reward a homeless man named Sean Currey who found a wallet that contained cash, debit and credit cards that belonged to Mikayla's grandmother Evelyn Topper who lost her wallet at a cafe in San Rafael California last month.
The person who took the wallet took the money but did not touch the debit and credit cards that belonged to Evelyn.
The wallet was found behind a dumpster by Sean who called Evelyn to inform her about the good news that he found her wallet behind the cafe.
Sean made an arrangement to return the wallet to Evelyn who was happy that Sean was honest enough not to use the credit and debit cards for himself since he was raised to not steal property that did not belong to him.
Mikayla decided to repay the act of honesty that Sean did returning her grandmother's wallet by asking her friends to make donations instead of gifts for her 12th birthday party.
The next day after Mikayla celebrated her 12th birthday, she and her grandmother met Sean and gave him hundreds of dollars which Sean was grateful to accept for his act of honesty since he could have been greedy and kept the wallet for himself.
I am amazed that a lot of children today think of assisting the needy instead of accepting gifts from their friends for their birthday parties.

I like that in her character to pay back the homeless man his reward for finding her grandmother's wallet.

I agree with you since not all homeless persons are bad people who are not grateful to be given some money to assist them.

Thank you for correcting me since I forgot that not all children have hearts of compassion for the needy.

@Deepizzaguy That's alright. Sometimes we forgot and we generalize it.

I have noticed that myself. Maybe the pandemic has been one reason for the children working at home to help others.

The news media uses the phrase "Never let a crisis got to waste."

Many homeless are just down on their luck and are good people with values. What a terrific way to give back to those less fortunate and what a mature 12 year old!
