simple lunch celebration

My son turn twelve yesterday (January 10). We just had a simple lunch celebration for his birthday. We only invited my SIL and her family because they are just a few steps away from us. My parents-in-law surprised us with their presence and brought some spring rolls. We had some noodles, pork barbeque, KFC chicken, cake and ice cream.

@LadyDuck my kids are not really materialistic. when you ask them what gift do you like, they will just say it is up to you. they are also appreciative of what is given to them. I am very thankful for that

Belated Happy birthday to your son. He is now an adolescent. He is lucky he has a sweet and loving family especially a "maasikasong" mother. I dont know the English equivalent.
