Our luxurious bedroom last night

We stayed with friends the last two nights and we all attended a 70th birthday luncheon. After the lunch, we went to view our friend’s new boat. The couple started a plumbing business from scratch and have now mostly handed it over to their three sons. They have worked extremely hard and have reaped the rewards of their efforts. The latest acquisition is a very impressive motor launch which has everything that opens and shuts, as we used to say. There are three bedrooms and the photo shows the one we slept in last night. The boat was in its moorings on the river which stayed very calm all night. How could you have a bad night’s sleep in such a beautiful room?

The boat is about 60 ft so it's pretty big. They have to put the aerial down to go under one bridge.

That is fantastic that your friends have done so well and that their sons are now running the family business. I have never slept on a boat but I can see if the water was calm it would make for a pleasant nights rest. Glad you had a good visit with them.

a boat with 3 bedrooms is really big! i think i would enjoy spending hours in that bedroom under the same conditions - moored and calm. i'm glad all three sons are involved in the business. sometimes, offsprings are not interested or have conflicts in how to run it.

They seem to have set the whole thing up very well. Each son has a particular role. One handles the big earth-moving works, one the general plumbing work and one is the accountant. They do some very big projects now for the government and developers. Our friends are easing out of the business now.

That is lovely! Our friend has a boat with 3 bedrooms, one for he and his wife, and one for each child. I can imagine that this must be a large boat, too.

Once in the cabin, you didn't really know you weren't on land. It is so big that it rocks very little.

You can't begrudge them their wealth. Their home was on the line at one stage but they've pulled through and go on to be very successful.

Yes. It has three cabins and is 60 feet long so it's considered big - I think it is anyway.
