So what swap group would you participate in?

Earlier I talked about wine swap groups and while talking to another 'lotter here it got me to thinking...
If you were to be a part of a swap / trade group, what would it be? Craft Supplies? Alcohol? Tools? Food? Pet Supplies? Services? (Lawn mowing for darning services for example)
I don't think it would be very difficult for any of you to guess what I would pick. I'll give you a second to think about it. Just one second though.. Alright, are you ready?
I would pick a swap group for....
*drum roll please*
Yarn.

What about you? What would you want to swap with the people in your community for?

I think that would be an excellent group and would keep them from being sent to goodwill's, libraries or thrift stores. The local thrift store has an entire wall of shelves dedicate to cookbooks.

Craft group of course. I would have to pick something that has to do with beauty products like nail polish and beauty face masks and book swapping and recipe swapping.

Your recipe swapping made me think of starter kits like the Amish friendship bread starter. People could do that for sourdough too or even make their own bread starters to swap.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Right. I read a book about that and it was a Amish one and they made money selling the kits

Well, e-books I would do. I'm no longer collecting books. I've sold all but the ones I strictly want physical copies of and now I have lots of room for yarn and other crafting things.
Swap groups aren't for everyone that is for sure. I think I'd feel a little better about swapping with yarn lovers though as I feel they would be a more wholesome bunch.

Definitely lawn mowing (in the spring) or some handyman services. We have a lot of little repairs to be made. We also need electrical and plumbing services.

I really think people would do well with swapping services. I know we could use a plumber and someone who could install ceiling fan in my bedroom.

@LindaOHio We have a ceiling fan in one bedroom and the kitchen but we hardly use either of them. Is the ceiling fan something your helper could install?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I need a new ceiling fan in the living room. It hasn't worked for a couple of years now.

Yes! I was also thinking that a person could put together a craft kit (enough yarn to make a cowl or enough fabric to sew a pillow case) and that would make the swap even more fun.

That would be the most beneficial swap I think. Most people love getting material things but nothing beats help with home repairs or improvements.

@thelme55 @GardenGerty Heather loves to garden and has a small garden of her own. She's talked about it here in the past.

Oh god, I can imagine just how many moms would be all over the kids clothes swap and old toys swap too now that I'm thinking about it.

@thislittlepennyearns That's kind of cool. I haven't been to DT in a long time but I've been meaning to go back.
