Delayed January pension and damaged ATM card

I was terribly worrying that I didn't receive my pension for January on time. I followed it up to the government insurance agency through a phone call and email but to no avail. I need the money for my basic needs especially my meds for maintenance. I was compelled to go to their office personally yesterday. I was able to update my personal status and I was assured that by 3 weeks my pension would get back to normal. Then I proceeded to the bank to complain about my ATM card which couldn't be read by bank machine. I had paid $6 for a replacement. It will take a month for me to receive a replaced card. Anyway, I have no other option but to wait. I'm so thankful that those things had been remedied for my own satisfaction. Thank God for that.

Even if you still not have your replacement card but you have another ATM account with the same bank and you are enrolled in their online banking platform, you can just transfer from your pension account to that other ATM account and withdraw money using that ATM account.

You're right. But my pension didn't arrive. That means something was wrong with my company that temporarily withheld my monthly pension.

Thank goodness you were able to remedy both problems. I can't imagine how they screwed up sending you your pension on time. I also thing your ATM card should have been replaced for free.

I really do hate when things like that happen. I am grateful my disability and my husband's paycheck both arrived early.

Glad to hear that these issues are handled to your satisfaction. I would be worried too if my source of income is delayed for some reason.

It is nice that things will be taken care of, but what are you supposed to do for now? Three weeks is a long time to wait for money you should have already had in your hand.

I failed to update my personal data which is a requirement during my birth month which is October. I was unable to do it due to Covid protocol. Senior citizens aren't allowed to go out

Gosh. That's terrible. Did they say why the pension is delayed? And I have NEVER heard of EVER having to pay for an ATM card, debit card, credit card or anything like that. They WANT you to use these because they collect fees from places you buy from for the use of them.

@porwest It's not the case. The point there is to know whether the pensioner still living. So the government is requiring the pensioner to APIR (Annual Pensioners' Information Revalidation). Now you got it?

My father in law was required to visit the office every birth month before the agency would release the pension for the following months. Otherwise, they would stop the release of the pension.
