Didn't think they would exchange it. I bought a chainsaw from home depot and couldn't find the receipt. A family relative said take it back and explain that it doesn't work. They can check your card to see when it was purchased and give you a new one. So we went there and explained, and sure enough the manager gave us an exchange for a new one!!!! Saved 199.00! It's true, you never know you can do something until you try!!

Here, everything is difficult. You need to keep the receipt. Even if you have the receipt they still make it difficult for you.

Most stoes do have policies in place to return or replace products, if its under a certain timeframe. Because you didn't wait for months, they were more willing to exchange it.

Yep, many merchants will gladly replace or refund an item if it's defective.

It's possible the item number corresponded with their products @db20747 I only know one place that doesn't need a receipt and thats Costco, they look things up my member number.

They do the same here if we pay using a card, they check, no need to have the receipt.
