Good Morning 1/17

it is 858 AM EST, and colder than yesterday. I like to eat warm things for breakfast when it is cold out, but I broke the mold this morning with some cereal. Breakfast cereal really tastes good to me anytime. I was just musing nothing ever happens around here. (which I guess is a good thing) I have a police scanner on my phone and you can leave that on for two hours without a report on this area..Conversely, if you have it on some big city station, there is something happening every two minutes. Last time I saw a cop car patrolling this neighborhood was a few years ago when the crazy neighbor down the street, accused the guy who thought he was President of the Devlopment of trying to kill him with his John Deere golfcart/ tractor sort of combo.Of course you have your odd break in, domestic incident or car crash in the surrounding areas but that is about it. IS your neighborhood dull and peaceful or violent?

Nothing happens here, we bought this house in 1999 and I can remember nothing bad. The police patrols because we are not very far from the border, normal routine.

@LadyDuck Where I last lived was pretty urban other than not being crazy about my neighbors there was only a couple of times when something bad happened. So, I guess it depends in part with who you are surrounded by.

@snowy22315 Absolutely, we had enough fear when we lived in Italy in a big city.

Morning! Enjoy your cereal. Mostly peaceful to be honest. A sheriff lives on the next street over. The neighborhood is big and a mix of older residents and newer. At one time there was a burgularly in the neighborhood and it was big talk to for awhile

Yes, since some of the houses here are second homes and the people aren't there all the time...sometimes you hear about people breaking into those homes.

@snowy22315 I hope those homes have excellent security systems in them.

Yeah that shrieking would get on my nerves I think. Now though I guess people can just use the ring doorbell system to surveil their own house while they are away. Not that it's foolproof, but I don't think that has any fees with it, does it?@snowy22315

Since almost everyone know everyone here, it's pretty peaceful.

Very peaceful and quiet. That’s why we bought our home here. We live in an upscale town. The police just patrol the area.

I would call this area moderately upscale as well, although not as much as some of the other communities in the general area. We are really too far from the town for a general patrol, and like I said nothing much happens anyway.

@snowy22315 We are highly upscale. We only have a volunteer police station that keeps riff-raff out.

Never a dull moment around here in this complex. There are normal people and then your fair share of lunatics. I can't wait to get out of here.

I feel the same, but I feel a bit nervous about going from the frying pan into the fire. It seems like anytime I make a major decision, it ends up being a bad move..so I am very leery. Trying to think everything out as much as possible...I really need more people to bounce ideas off of, and more support to make a major move.

Thanks, I hope to. I haven't done much so far though. I am about to have some lunch and start a cleaning project. I guess I am postponing it...lol.
