Both my daughters have been laid off from both of their jobs (teaching and travel) as we are on stay-at-home orders from our provincial government. The last lay off is official today. I already posted their plans about redecorating my living room, which I am nervous about. But...
Today they are doing a run to an e-recycle spot where the organization there makes money for their non-profit organization. Instead of just taking the couple of things in the garage and a small box of small items in the hallway, they have cleared out a bunch of junk from the crawl space (i.e. storage). I know a lot of this stuff still works and feel like someone could use them, but they're getting it out of my house and working hard doing it.
Having the girls laid off may not be such a bad thing.

@JudyEv It's a fine line because more and more adult children are living with their parents because housing etc. is so expensive. I would never kick my kids out. But up until recently we were still paying for their phones because my husband doesn't have a spine. They didn't pay for anything except if I didn't buy food they wanted they'd buy it themselves. My younger daughter is now paying me monthly but it is a loan payback because I paid her student loans when I got my inheritance.
Now both girls have been laid off, though I assume they are getting unemployment. My older daughter has never contributed financially but it was her idea to do this project and they're paying for it. So I guess I can't complain.

@cherigucchi Well, the past day and a half was one waiting around for the other and nothing getting done. I was not amused but they did eventually get to priming the walls today.
