I wonder if my family ever learned the hour.

I know for sure that all of them have watches. And most of them have better watches than mine.
But all of them arrive late at lunches, dinners and parties at my house
Claudia learned very early in life to see the clock in the kitchen. She did not like to eat and once I told her that if she had not eaten in 20 minutes, I´d take her dosh away. She learned to call me "Mommy, the 20 minutes are up!" Goodness!!!
But she forgot all that with age.
Now I´m expecting Carolina since 12:30. It is 1:15 and she has not arrived.
I´m going to get me another family!!!

With close family, we tend to get more relaxed.

I guess certain cultures do that though, right? That being "late" is customary. In my family/culture, we are quite punctual . . . when my cousin's wedding reception was for a certain time, we all expected to be eating at the time. But his bride's families all knew dinner would not be served until 2 hours later

I am freaky about being late; and I hate it when other people are late!

I do, but with my close ones, I have to be waiting for them as they come to pick me up.
