Taking about your strange laws they even affect rock and roll. In 1956 the Ohio Police came out with a law dating back to 1931. It laid down the law that rock and roll fans in Cleveland who were under 18 could not dance in public unless accompanied by an adult.
In 1965 Petula Clark was the first UK female singer to have a number one song on the US singles chart. The song was "Downtown"
In 1971 Tony Orlando and Dawn were at number one on the US singles chart with "Knock Three Time" It was their first number-one song
In 1976 David Bowie released his tenth studio album Station to Station which was a vehicle for his last great character the Thin White Duke,
In 1988 Michael Jackson was at number one of the US singles chart with "The Way You Make Me Feel" It was the first single from his seventh studio album Bad
In 2000 Santana was at number one on the US album chart with Supernatural and stayed there for three weeks. The album went on to win eight Grammy Awards
Their number one song in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada in 1971.http://www.youtube.com/user/numberonesongs111http://www.youtube.com/user/numberonesongs333...
