Who sells on Ebay?

I had put my writing on halt to try out selling on Ebay. At first it was hard because I was finding it hard to make some sales. All over sudden I started getting sales and it was fun. I believed I could make a living via ebay then corona came. I am grateful I made sales too but it was the beginning of my problems. Items were delivered late that led to some buyers not being patient. I am currently still stuck trying to get myself from that mess but I feel like I am getting to a dead end. Has anyone out there experienced this? How did you handle it?

I never trid to sell online. However, when you rely on a third party to ship your goods, there's going to be problems. The Usps service is slower than a snail, and I don't see it getting better anytime soon. Between people quitting, and rules in place to cover someone who might be sick, many shipping companies are short-staffed. I'd say keep at it, but make sure you have a backup source of income. Its never good to rely on just one thing.

That is a lesson corona taught me the hard way.

There are certain things beyond our control that could happen and might greatly affect our business. I don't sell online but probably you could inform your clients beforehand about the current situation and that there may be delays in the shipment of their items. That way, they can decide whether they will pursue with their orders or not.

@mosherii That's one of the issues we can encounter when selling online. Many people are impatient. If you still have other ways, such as writing, then you could probably start writing again.

I had an eBay store before but because of the high fees, I gave up altogether. I still sell online but mostly in Instagram.

I had been selling things here and there on ebay. I stopped when deliveries were so messed up and didn't want to deal with the hassle if something was lost or late. Once things get back to normal I'll get back into it.

A friend of mine started opening her online store since corona came. She ever said that if customers had been waiting for quite long time, she gave them a gift such as merchandise, hairbands, etc. The conclusion is you can try to give your customers "incentive". Hopefully it can reduce their disappointment due to the late receipt.

I'm sorry this has happened. The COVID has caused a great many people to encounter a lot of problems in all sorts of ways.
