Another day of tidying

The washing needed doing again. That's now in the dryer.
I vacuum sealed a comforter that needed it. Did some vacuuming, unloaded the dishwasher and cleaned the toilet.
There are some organizational things I need to do. I just don't know where to begin for some of it. Our laundry area is full of stuff we no longer use. Cans and bottles of chemicals that have probably lost their potency, but that has it's own challenge. I'm not going to wash them down the sink or toilet and tossing the contents into the grass isn't good either. I suppose throwing the whole bottle or can away is an option, but I wouldn't want anything that is pressurized going to the landfill either.
I'll figure it out.

I watched a video yesterday where a woman went about the house and tidied up everything that was visually bothersome. She drilled a hole in the back of a drawer and placed her cords inside, fed them through and hid away all of her electronics that needed recharging. It was an interesting video.
Half of my problem here is when I clean off a surface one of my family members thinks "Oh I should put my comic books THERE!"1 person likes this

@ScribbledAdNauseum FLYlady suggests putting something pretty or decorative on a flat surface so it doesn't look like a place to put stuff.
I am bad at setting stuff here and there.

@paigea Oh that's a really good idea. I'm less inclined to put clutter around something like a vase of fake flowers.

It really isn't. I watched a video yesterday from an Irish woman with a very soothing voice. She spoke about visual clutter and keeping to the same color scheme. She placed things in threes where she could (three candles instead of four, three jars of foods instead of four) and I think I would like to implement some of this.

@LadyDuck Yes, I agree. Sometimes you need four things together like with spices or different sugars.
I like bright colors. My bedroom is an ugly brown but at the moment I can not change that.

It's bitterly cold here today and even the dogs don't want to go out.
I'm just trying to catch up on my notifications (which always seem to be behind), and am working on a scarf in a pretty blend of beige and browns. It's a new yarn I got called Scarfie (by Lion brand) and it's supposed to make one scarf. So far it looks good.
Hope you have something fun planned for today other than tidying up and organizing.

Let me know what you think of that yarn. I've heard of it and would like to try it myself. I need to get over to Hobby Lobby one of these days and make my yarn purchase in person.

@Marilynda1225 I think it was just last week, wasn't it? I didn't get any but I feel like I looked on Hobby Lobby's site and saw there was a sale..
I'll check amazon. Did they come in a three pack?

@ScribbledAdNauseum so far I like it. Its 78% acrylic and 22% wool . I've never used yarn like this but the scarf is coming along nicely. I got it on Amazon
I'm waiting for yarn to go on sale at hobby lobby and I'll be stocking up
Hopefully it will be this week

We have collection times for Hazardous Waste materials every year. Does your city or town do that? I spent today trying to find some room darkening drapes without grommets!

I do not know but thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will see what I can find out. I know we have a big trash day but I can't put those things out there during that day.
