Mississippi By The Secret Sisters

Sometimes I ask google to play a specific song. After that song goes off, spotify will continue to play whatever song is next in the playlist or album. Mississippi by The Secret Sisters is one of those songs. Now, I don't like country music very much. This I would consider folksy country. It was on a playlist with Dark Country / Alt Country / Gothic Country (all the same just different names). Here's part of the song: Taking off for Mississippi Wearing someone else's name Brought you in this world and I Can take you from it just the same If you leave for Mississippi I will beat you at your game Brought you in this world and I Can take you from it just the same What do you think of it?
From the new album 'You Don't Own Me Anymore.' Available now: http://flyt.it/ydoma?ID=yt

This one kind of made me think of The Devil Went down to Georgia and somewhat of "Fancy"

@popciclecold Oh me too. I was actually thinking of "The night the lights went out in Georgia." I always get those two titles mixed up.

It beats listening to rap and hip hop music. An average song in my opinion.

I'm with you there. It gives me a headache, plus I have no idea of what they are talking about.

@popciclecold What I mean it is an average song is that lyrics should be upbeat.

You are welcome. It's different but it's a good song. It makes me think of several different songs. That's the night that the lights went out in georgia and Fancy.

Not really a country fan, but some of it is OK. I like country rock, or country folk isn't too bad. Bluegrass is sometihing I am a fan of.I will listen to this later. Listening, like this.

I'm not a fan of country music today. It's more pop than anything. Southern Gothic / Alt Country is better. It's more folksy / bluegrassy.

The words are weird the music I like and the picture on the cover doesn't look dark at all.

No, I bet the picture is someone from their family. Some of the music in this genre has dark themes. This one is one of the most tame I've come across.
