Day 173 Promise 634 Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do you feel as though you’re alone? Help cannot be found when needed? Do you feel like you need to do it or it won’t get done? Paul told the Philippians to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. Then he told them God worked His will in them for His good pleasure. Did they need to do it alone? As Christians, you often feel alone in your endeavors for Jesus Christ. However, that’s not what Paul meant for you to do. You cannot save yourself. You need the help of the Holy Spirit to bring you to Jesus Christ. So then, what did he mean by working out your own salvation? Paul spoke of his salvation: Philippians 1:18 What then? Notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. The salvation he spoke about was for prayer from others for his safety so he could continue to preach the gospel. Working out your salvation with fear and trembling is prayer. How often do you ask for prayer in various situations that seem beyond hope? How often do you see prayer requests from others and you respond and pray for the situation? Your salvation, deliverance, depends on prayer. When you pray and ask others to pray with you, you are working out your deliverance from the trouble Satan brought against you. Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God’s promise is to hear your prayer and deliver you from all your trouble. You can’t work out your salvation, deliverance, any other way. Let’s pray: Father, let my prayer come before You as the evening sacrifice, knowing You hear all prayers and will keep me from all trouble. Help me pray for others in their time of need so they too will benefit from Your help in time of need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. They always say, "when all else fails get on your knees and pray." I think it should be "before all else fails, get on your knees and pray." But no matter what, we should always go to God in prayer and thanksgiving.

In all we do we should always be prayerful, the only way of communicating to God.

We should always acknowledge God - we cannot save ourselves but Jesus Christ.

Nicely worded, and with a helpful prayer, for us to pray with you too. Prayer can be hard to word sometimes, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can always find the right words to pray to God. The most important part of prayer is to pray earnestly from our heart, usually first with the words supplied by our mind, but also pushed past the inner censor of our soul, and the Holy Spirit. This is because a certain reference is needed for prayer then too, as of old, when a real reverence was needed for the ark of the tabernacle, and for the Holy home of God's, represented by this. Prayer takes us into God's space, a holy space indeed.

@just4him Prayer lets us see God for real. I think that his presence is always all around us, but prayer brings us alive, awakened, to his ever-present presence.
