Crochet Update + Next project

It has been a bit since I've updated about my crocheting progress. I do not have any pictures to show today (just don't feel like going through the process), but I can say that I have now completed three pillow cases and am working on the forth. It is nothing fancy, just the single crochet stitch. Below is the link to my next project. I'm not sure if I'll crochet the pocket into it yet or not. What crafty thing are you doing?

Yes, I love it. I was thinking that it would be perfect as a pocket or I could stitch two of these together and make a small purse.

@thelme55 I think I had something similar to this as a little girl. My mother must have crocheted it for my sister and it was handed down to me.

@LadyDuck I crocheted one last night and will post about it today. I think I may use it as a coaster.

@infatuatedbby I have a lilac pinkish purple yarn that I may use if I have enough left over after my current project.

Ive been thinking about all the different ways I can use it too. A pocket, or make two and turn it into a purse.

This is such a great valentine looking heart. I also crochet but only big projects like afghan, bedspreads etc. With these big projects I tend to have a lot of them going on at the same just to get some variety... Do you also knit or cross stitch or tat or any other needle crafts?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I tried sewing too but that darn sewing machine never does what I want her to, hence I sew by hand only. Polymer clay is interesting. Hope you manage to take it up and show us your creations...

@frankie2013 Oh I'll definitely show my creations. I have so many ideas about it. I was never taught to sew, but wish I had been. My mom crocheted but by the time I wanted to learn (the first time) her hands would not cooperate.

I've crocheted afghans before but I realized I don't like it. I do not do any other needlecraft. I tried loom knitting at one time but I kept missing stitches or getting my tension wrong. I have a few things I'd like to try including polymer clay and sewing.

That's cute! The other day we were at Dollar general and I picked up a cute distressed blank wooden sign that I'm gonna do something with the Cricut with.

Oh that sounds like it'd be a cute project. I keep looking at the cricut stuff when I'm at walmart but I don't know where to even begin with that.

They did not have the yarn I wanted to get today (none of the maninstays yarn was available) so I got the red and white colors like in the video. There's a pretty pink variegated that I wanted to get.

@CarolDM Yes. I haven't used a lot of red yarn yet. I remember my mom loved getting red yarn and blue yarn the most. She also got this pretty variegated yarn that I believe has been discontinued. It was darker reds, browns and greens.

I can't wait to crochet it up. I think it will be really cute. I could see this being stitched onto a bag and used as a pocket.

Yes I thought it was cute. I thout about crocheting one for each of my friends but there's going to be another lady joining us for gallantines and I thought it might be awkward to either crochet her one or not.

Looks like an "appropriate" project for this time of year. How long will it take to complete it?

I could probably finish it in around two hours. I haven't watched the video yet, but it all depends on the repetition of the pattern.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Hope it's fun. Most of my projects take longer because of "drying time."

Crocheting is a great skill. I've learned to crochet before, but crocheting takes care and patience. so I stopped crocheting out of boredom. but I admire people like you. that's a good thing. Keep it up

I am glad you tried it. I find it very relaxing, but I can see where it would get boring after awhile too.
