How do you feel about prayer? Do you think that God listens to our prayers?
I was reading this Scripture today:
Psalm 65:2 (King James Version) 2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
What are your experiences and thoughts when it comes to prayer?

Great! With all that is going on and will go on in the days ahead, we need to pray more than ever.
Luke 21:36 (King James Version) 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

It interests me as to why did Jesus pray, given that he was God anyway?
Is prayer for us the same as for Jesus then?
We too are just talking to ourselves, the God part in us too?
Prayer is a railway journey in which we derail ourselves on our own tracks, and rerail ourselves on God's track, for our life.
Prayer helps us to keep these rails in place, and to align them thoughtfully to God's distant destination for our life, which only his rails in us, and us following them faithfully will take us there to him.
Prayer is like a heart on fire that whispers sweet nothings to its lover, and yet with our mind not so much on fire, our mind's words must take second fiddle to our heart's words, and so often a prayer is a silent rendering of connectiveness to God, rather than an endless series of repeated mind phrases alone.

@Shiva49 Yes, prayer helps to connect us, via both our heart, our mind and our soul, to God; in other words. prayer helps us to love, and appreciate God's presence, in our lives too.

@Jlyn10 Here is a Scripture that reveals how God talks to us.
Matthew 4:4 (King James Version) 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
The Bible is the word of God and so when we read it, God talks to us and helps us understand what he wants us to do and how he wants us to live. Many of us have a goal to read a bit of the Bible every day.

Personally I don’t pray because I feel that God already knows how I feel. I think if it makes someone else feel better to pray then it’s okay with me. I’m not going to tell someone they can’t. Yes I do think he listens when your pray and when you don’t. Does he always answer no but someone’s the answer are already there for you but you not looking hard enough or it’s not time yet.
I definitely believe things happen for a reason.

@ShyBear88 Exactly, then why wouldn't we want to talk to God? Aren't we his children?

In high school my room mates at times used to think I was growing nuts. I am constantly having a conversation with God. Did you know when you are tight with God you get to learn His sense of humour? So in school I used to have the quiet time in the room at times I would end up laughing out loud because of His humour. Now a days when am having those scenarios I just tell someone I remember something.

Bad things and good things will happen to everyone, the good and the bad, those that pray and those that don't. However, the good have a wonderful eventual hope and things may not work out so well for the bad in the long run where it counts. We don't pray because of what we get, we pray because we love!

@kanuck1 Entails a lot of mortification but what is that compared to the Supreme Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus.

He hears or prayers but we don't always want to wait for his timing and try to meet or need on it own.

There's one side of me that believes God and Angel hears prayers. Another part says its about believing and having faith for our subconcious mind, has nothing to do with God.

@RitzzView Great! Let's go the next step. Then, if God exists, does He care about us?
