I keep forgetting to buy sliders

And I'm not taking about food. I'm talking about the things that go underneath furniture which help them move more easily from room to room. I need a few to get my computer desk from the one side of the dinette to the kitchen floor. And then a different type of sliders to move it from the kitchen through the living room and hallway to my daughter's old room. If I don't use the sliders I'm concerned my computer desk will fall apart.
I have moved smaller items by pulling them across the carpet and then working then into a bath towel so the floors don't get scratched, but I don't think it will work for the desk.
I want to move for various reasons. For one thing it's warmer in that room. Another reason is that or dining room table is in the living room and we could then move it back into the dinette where it belongs. Then if my grandkids ever come over they can sit at the table.
The other day I got my small, two drawer file cabinet moved..I have a larger four or five drawer one two but I may keep that in the dinette for the time being as it's harder to move. In the past I used a dolly which is in the garage.
Do you use sliders of this sort of move things around to change things up? I know some of you have moved recently and others are moving out considering a move. For those type of moved having someone help pick things up works best.

Same as @kaylachan my husband and I helped each other. Now he cannot lift weights anymore, but there is nothing we need to move.

@MarshaMusselman I think that with sliders it should not be too difficult to move.

I've always moved furniture around somewhat. I'm doing it less now but I can't imagine never moving anything ever again. I'm sure there's a time that will be needed.

I've been wanting to move it for some years now but waited. Now that my daughter moved out of seems like it might work out better. I'm not sure how soon it will get moved though.

@garymarsh6 I hope I remember them and I'm hoping it helps me move things on my own. Once I disconnect the computers and tower and remove all my papers it should be fairly easy to move if I have enough of the sliders under it.

I may not use the dolly as much more that I'm older but I've even used it to move heavy things around the yard like dirt and bags of stones before.

Don't you make a list of the things you need to pick up at Walmart, or whichever store you shop at? I use the notebook on my phone to make lists of the things we need to buy when we get to a store. (Actually, I hand my phone to Pretty and tell her what I want to pick up while we're driving to the store to shop...
) I do usually start the list while we're still at home but I almost always have to add to the list before we get there.
Yes, we use different types of sliders to move different kinds of furniture around the house. It's much easier than picking them up and carrying them.

@MarshaMusselman You might also set an alarm on your phone for the time you need to go home. Name the alarm "Check your shopping list." That way you won't forget to check it before you leave the store.

Often I'll use a list but last night I only wanted a few things.
I'll add it to my list now and hope I peek at it before I head home tonight.

Is a good idea when you don't have enough people to help carry things. When were ready to move the kitchen table we will need help for that as it needs to be turned sideways to make it through the doorways.

@thelme55 they make them for carpeted floors and uncarpeted. The ones for carpeted floors works great. I've not tried the others yet.

Do you take notes on your phone or a pad of paper? Write it down and then look when you're shopping.

No. My husband and I just help each other pick things up when possible. Some of our things are on castors, so that makes it easy to move as well.

My husband can only pick up 25 pounds. One of the gals in my crew will do some bit with me once it warms up a bit. I might see if she can help move the desk.

@MarshaMusselman I'm the weak one, but sometimes I'm the only help he has.

@kaylachan were both getting older, but if I'm careful and watch where I'm walking I should be fine.

Will two be enough? I have a couple of larger ones under the bed. It does save on energy.

@sol_cee you'll have to carry the fridge from one house to your vehicle it trailer and into the other house possibly before using the sliders. Why not just put it in place when your get there?
