My favorite Etsy: Pyrex Kitchen

United States
February 8, 2021 3:46pm CST
This is another one of the shops on my favorites list. I have never bought from them but I may buy some things eventually. Mostly things to complete a set or to replace things. I love vintage pyrex and if I had the room I would have a display case. My font is changed and I can't figure out exactly how to change it back so...

I love Pyrex! My neighbor collects vintage Pyrex bowls - she has them displayed in her kitchen cabinets with the glass doors (I can see it from my kitchen window ). I tend to collect the clear glass stuff.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The clear ones are definitely timeless. But regardless of the designs, the products themselves are great. They're study yet if they break, it's made so it doesn't shatter into slivers. Good stuff .

@much2say Yep! Gotta love that it's thick enough it won't shatter into slithers that you find with your feet later!

I feel like Pyrex is one of those brands that will stay relevant forever. I kind of like the clear glass stuff too. Most of our mixing bowls / serving bowls are clear.

Not sure if I have much pyrex at this time. If I had enough room to display it, I think collecting vintage jello molds would be fun. I just have one on display. There is a fine line between having cute stuff though and having clutter and junk.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah, I have seen kitchens that have several. I used to really be a fan of turkish copper as well. Some of that is neat and displayable.

One of the youtube channel's I watch, Lacy Faye (I think is her name) has those copper molds hanging up in her kitchen. Right, there is a fine line between the two. If I were to collect the pyrex I would still use it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It is just attractive. I like those pots and pans that hang from the ceiling on a hook. If you have nice cookware you can do that too. It is a space saver as well.

All that kind of thing makes me sad Amber. It always reminds me of Mother RIP all the little things she had in the kitchen.

I understand. I couldn't bear to part with some of my mother's kitchen stuff at first, even though we had no use for it here. She loved geese and the color blue. She had littlle white geese with blue polkadot ribbon as her theme in the kitchen.

I broke one of my pyrex casserole dishes and wanted to cry! I love using pyrex, for cooking in the oven or microwave.

I understand completely! Half of our kitchen here is pyrex and the other half is corningware. I think we might have some fire king stuff too.

Your font looks the same here to me. I have many Pyrex dishes passed down from family members.

Oh I have many too and I need to find some replacement lids for some. It's my browser's font that keeps playing peek a boo. Its changing automatically and I change it back but it doesn't stick.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Frustrating when the font does that. Good luck finding the lids.

That is one of my favorite patterns, we don't have any of that pattern here. Supermarkets around here have just started giving that kind of stuff as loyalty gifts now.

I've read that newer Pyrex can explode in the oven.

I think I read that too. You can usually find the older pyrex at goodwill or habitat ReStore's for a decent price.

Oh, there's so many patterns there that I remember from my childhood! Your font looks the same on my end. Did you check your browser settings?

Oh, I knew it was the browser settings that went wonky last night. Not sure why it did that but thankfully today it is back to normal. We have two different patterns from Pyrex and two from Corningware.

We have two different types (maybe three) of pyrex. I should say patterns not types. Same with corningware, two different of those too. It was my browser font being wonky.
