My Winter snow peas are coming in!

My Winter snow peas started poking through a couple of weeks ago, and they're looking healthy as of today (February 11). I planted a couple of seeds in each of my planters, so hopefully I'll have a "wall of snow peas" in a couple of months. I also planted some cilantro, but I haven't had the best of luck with cilantro over the years. Maybe the birdies are gobbling up my seeds. How does your garden grow?

That's what my garden looks like, too. Not a lot of peas but plenty of snow.

@TheHorse There is a layer of ice under the snow... and it's still snowing. That photo was taken a couple of hours ago.

I haven't started a new garden . . . the old one is still thriving (somewhat) - surviving even though I'm not doing too much! It looks like some sweet peppers are almost ready to be picked. I have never had any luck with cilantro.

@much2say Mine grew for me and the kids in Oakland one year. It was a year I did NOT plant cilantro. Corn, green beans, sunflowers, and snow peas obey my commands. I love cilantro in Mexican and Thai food. But I also think God put it on our wonderful Earth to torment me.

How does my garden grow? Pretty good since I buried my ex husband under the watermelons. You got the peas, and we got the winter snow here.

As you know, I keep my ex-es in the freezer. Yummy if cooked right. Yep, California is weird. In many ways.

Don't you have SOME things the roos don't eat?

@JudyEv I've been doing my "balcony garden" thing for years, so I can't remember if our roos, called deer, spared anything.

@TheHorse Anything with a really strong perfume they seem to leave alone. They don't eat grevilleas but like callistemons (or it might be the other way around). They don't touch the golden diosma but that explodes if there is a fire, and so it goes on.

Even my luck has not worked with all that I planted in mid January. No signs of carrots, capsicums, pumpkin and brinjal. Tomatoes, ladies finger, spinach, amaranthus, radish and chillies are doing good so far. Hopefully they survive and produce

@arunima25 In Oakland, I had tomatoes all Winter one year (with the kids). But here at my house, it's a tad colder than in Oakland (in Winter).

@TheHorse Trying to keep those away here by using the whole peanuts. I don't put out seeds. They will kill the bluebirds that are coming in a few weeks to raise families.

My garden sighs. My mint thrive like no other in the front yard wouldn’t mind it taking over the whole flower bed. We took out these bushes which caused a bunch of wood root to the house that we got blamed for by my husbands grandparents like we put those bushes there.

@TheHorse no they have to replace some wood because it’s there property we just live in it. We choice too take the bush out since it was the cause of the problem and they said we could do whatever we wanted to the flower bed so we did. It’ll help with allergies

Glad your peas are healthy. We haven't had a garden in a few years, that said our garlic, asparagus, fruit and nut trees keep us busy enough. They come back every year without us having to plant them.

@TheHorse We have ours in a row, doesn't take up a lot of space. Maybe you tube it you might be able to grow some in a pot. We grow the elephant variety as it isn't as strong a flavor.

Good going! We still have s**w on the ground and are getting too old to tend to a garden. We have cherry tomatoes that keep coming up in the front flower bed; so I guess we'll have some of those this summer.

Soon some nice veggies fresh from your garden. I've only aloe. Living in apt, water included, so I use recycled water for plants not to waste water.
