Did my first Instacart Shopping Order

How’s your Thursday shaping up? I woke up a little bit early to run a couple errands and saw an available Instacart order pop up to be shipped. It was like 20 items at a Cub Foods (a big grocery chain here), close delivery, and for a total of $19.43 If you made a day of it, might turn into decent money. Instacart itself seems to pay pretty little to their shoppers- so if you don’t receive a decent tip, it is not worth your time. Like, this order had a $12 or $11 tip. Otherwise, for $9 I would NOT do this order (plus it was 40 pounds worth of cat litter). What I liked about doing the Instacart order (as a shopper): -Upfront about what the order pays AND what the user tips (to determine if it’s worthwhile for you or not!) -Upfront about what the items are, if the delivery is to a house or apartment, etc. What I dislike: -Lower pays for shoppers (in comparison to Shipt) -I am personally not used to Cub, Aldi and other stores layouts. Did not see aisle numbers for items on the Cub Order I did. -A little more involved (it seems) in doing substitutions than -Doesn’t give you a “due by” time until after you’ve finished the shop. It went OK all in all but I don’t think I will do it again unless there’s one nearby with a small amount of items. Have you ever been an Instacart shopper?

Nope. I don't drive. I couldn't if I wanted to.

It’s too bad there aren’t more side jobs that you can do on your phone that don’t require driving.

Good that you were able to buy something. I do not use instacart here

I don't drive so wouldn't be able to do something like this.

Except for when they deliver the wrong groceries right? Hah. I noticed that they like to pair orders together (sometimes up to 3!) and I feel like with 3 orders I would start getting confused. I am excited to do some small Aldi orders for my neighborhood if they pop up!

I haven't done that but it sounds good if you're able to get those nice tips

This one was. I like that you can see what the tip is before committing to the order.
