One thing I like about doing these stories of the actions of dogs, is that they are very clever in getting the attention of someone to alert them of danger that needs to be dealt with. On Wednesday morning, a Great Dane male dog named Shadow jumped on the windows of the neighbor of an 83 year old man who is the grandfather of Ronald Call. Ronald's cousin Jackie Call then saw what happened that their grandfather's house was on fire. The pair then went to their grandfather's home after one of them call 911 to report the incident of the house catching fire in Hurricane West Virginia. The pair then managed to get the grandfather out of the burning home while they worked on putting out the fire until the local firefighters and an EMS came to the scene of the incident. The 83 year old senior man was taken out of the home safely by his relatives and is in good spirits. According to Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards, the fire was caused by an HVAC unit that caught fire that spread into the duct tape. Since both Jackie and Robert put out the fire in the single family home only suffered smoke damage. Mayor Edwards called Shadow "A hero." for waking up the two relatives of the 83 year old man who might have passed away had it not been for the actions of Shadow who is owned by both Jackie and Ronald Call.

Yep, dogs can be heros sometimes but too often people leave their dogs outside and if something did happen those dogs cannot help.

You are correct. In my case my late dogs were inside the home unless nature called them.

It was pretty smart of the dog to go to the neighbours' place.
