I think they called it off

If I understood correctly, I believe we were able to escape the rolling outages, and that is a good thing. It is almost 6 a.m. Current temperature is -14F or almost -26 C. I will not even open the door to let the cats out. In keeping with conserving, I have not turned up the heat yet. I am the only one up and I am warm enough. I am making a baked egg dish in the oven, though. And I have hot coffee. Why can't the power grid keep up? Because it is even cold and snowing in Mexico. The entire state of Texas and of Oklahoma is under a winter advisory. The power generating windmills are frozen up. The solar panels are snowed over. I guess it is time to burn something for some heat. By this time next week they are predicting temperatures in the 50's F or about 12 C. Maybe this will be the last big chill of our winter, but I doubt it.

Today is our last wind chill advisory day. I was encouraged to see -12 for the wind chill when I got up and 6 for the air temp for the first time in over two weeks. Tomorrow we'll be in the 20s and it goes up from there. I hope you come out of the deep freeze soon. To hear it's snowing in Mexico is unreal. They must be in shock. Stay warm. I don't blame you for not letting the cats out.

I will let them try it when it is light. I may go crawl back in bed for a while, too. I did not check wind chill but I am grateful we are not having the winds that we sometimes get.

@marlina Me too, but not surprising with the map I saw with all of Texas getting snow. It means my daughter and granddaughter got snow.

I can't see these wind turbines, solar panels and power grids working in these cold winters we are having. You see in Texas, it is all down.

My nephew says solar works better in the cool and that the snow actually reflects more light into the chamber. I would hope so, but I think we need to rely on a variety of fuels and conserve more when we can.

It's snowing again here... As if we don't have enough already.

I think it will be around for a while here. None falling today, however. It is just laying there freezing on the ground.
