The morning doctors appointments are done, so I’m enjoying lunch before the afternoon session. That give me time to enjoy a salad and give you another band with a number of different lead singers. Here’s today’s not-much-of-a-surprise band. #9: Fleetwood Mac You know, it’s easier to tell you who didn’t sing in this band!! That would be the namesakes, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Everyone else had the microphone. Nowadays everyone thinks of this as Stevie Nicks’ band, which may not be all that inaccurate given that she had lead guitarist/singer/former boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham fired from the band. But Fleetwood Mac had a long history before she and her coke habit showed up in the band. For instance, Peter Green sang lead on one of the earliest classic Fleetwood Mac tunes, “Oh Well,” as well as singing and writing “Black Magic Woman” (which later became a big hit for Santana). Then there was one of my favorite eras, the Bob Welch era (in Bare Trees and Mystery to Me). Welch left the band and later had some success with his solo version of “Sentimental Lady,” which was originally a Fleetwood Mac song (that he sang lead on). Then along came what we consider the “classic” line-up, with the three-pronged attack of Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, and Stevie Nicks on vocals. Fleetwood Mac is a band with a long history and a long list of lead singers! Fleetwood Mac Lead singers: Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Bob Welch, Danny Kerwin, Peter Green, Bob Weston, and Jeremy Spencer One of my favorite FMac songs, with lead vocals by the late great Bob Welch:

@NJChicaa — I can understand that. She’s probably the worst singer Fleetwood Mac ever had. The very thought of her singing Christine McVie’s gorgeous ballad “Songbird” makes me shudder.

They certainly had a number of lead singers in their lifetime.

I like the older version of the band more so when the Americans invaded, though they put out some great music too.
