My car is fixed

The photo has nothing to do with the post. We were at a music festival when these storm clouds sent everyone scurrying for shelter. Some time back, I broke my car. The door-handle came away in my hand. Luckily, we were able to pick up a brand-new one from the wreckers. Fitting it has been on the back-burner for some weeks but today was the day Vince tackled the replacement. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well and in the end he took the car and all the bits into our nice, friendly smash repair person who fitted the new handle although not without some difficulty. He didn’t want to charge for it but it took him about 40 minutes to fit so Vince persuaded him to take $50 to buy him and his co-workers a drink. It’s Friday evening so they were off to the pub for a beer. So my car is all systems go again which is nice. And we can now cross ‘Fix car door handle’ off our list of things to do. At the rate we’re going, we’ll run out of tasks soon. And I’m off to bed now so I’ll catch you all tomorrow.

Almost forgot to tell you that the photo is absolutely stunning. Did it bring a storm?

It brought a massive storm. Thunder, lightning, heavy rain - the works.

I have a 'fix car door handle' on my list. I guess the spring got broken as I can't open it from the outside. But it's not my priority yet.

This handle was a sort of plastic and I think it just got brittle with age. I hope the passenger handle doesn't do the same.

@JudyEv my only concern is if it happen to the driver's door. I might need to slide then

@prinzcy The console between the seats is very low so it wasn't too difficult to slide across.

It was pretty awe-inspiring to see those clouds. Quite scary. The temperature dropped considerably, the wind picked up then the thunder and lightning started.

It is difficult to drive the car without main door handle. Good that you finally fixed it. Australian $50 is how much in terms of US $?

Luckily the console between the two front seats is very low so it wasn't too hard to slide across from the passenger side. $A50 is worth about $40US.

It's almost fall where you are right? So in light of that there will probably be plenty new projects you'll need to handle before winter sets in.

Yes, March is the beginning of autumn/fall. There are a few things we'd like to get done before winter.

@JudyEv Too bad it sent everyone scurrying for shelter. The storms in Florida are amazing and so sudden. It can be so sunny and then boom, a dark cloud rapidly floats in and one is soaked. It is sunny on one side of the street and soaking on the other. I usually cross the stree to the sunny side.

The sky that time was very beautiful but also very ominous. Within an hour, there was thunder and lightning and a huge downpour.

Mine has never given any trouble but I guess after 20 years, the plastic handles just got brittle. Hopefully, the passenger handle won't go out in sympathy. lol

Good grief, I would never run out of tasks..I just don't have the desire to do them. If you run out of tasks you could always just stick your head in a book, write a letter, or take a snooze in or outdoors. Congrats on the door handle!
