Bookmark of My Youth

I was organizing my boxes full of collected writings, cards, postcards, journal notebooks and other things that I thought I could use later. I have to throw some of the things that I think are no longer of use for me. Suddenly, I saw my old college bookmark with " The Weather is terrible. It reminds me of you." I was very happy. This bookmark reminded me of younger self always borrowing books in the library. If this bookmark could speak, it tells me what books I have read in those years and how happy, excited or sad I was reading in my corner of the world. I could still remember those moments when I was hooked reading The Devil's Advocate novel of Morris West. Do you still have an old bookmark that reminded you of your youth? What books have you read with your bookmark? Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day/evening to you all.

No, I don't have any old bookmarks; and I've read hundreds of books in my lifetime. I'll always remember The Jungle by Upton Sinclair (I think).

I don’t think I have read The Jungle. What did you use as a bookmark? Thank you @LindaOHio.

@thelme55 That was decades ago. I might have used a slip of paper for a bookmark. I don't remember.

Yes, it was thoroughly used @allknowing. Maybe that is why I don't use it anymore and just keep it in the box. Thank you.

That's a cute bookmark. I do not have a bookmark but I have a ruler from many years ago. It has my name on it. I think it was bought for me when I was very young, maybe age 2 or so.

Your bookmark is well used and could probably tell you about the books you read if it could speak.

@just4him Yes, I have forgotten a lot of books I have read. I happened to remember The Devil’s Advocate novel because I was a working student in college and the book was owned by my high school principal, whom I worked for in her home. So I remember that I used this bookmark that time. It was also the first crime story novel I have read in English language.

I still have book marks I think in the books I read as a kid. One say I'm going to go read these books again. This post has given me an idea for a post!

@thelme55 It was not that easy. It took a lot of time. I have not made them in quite some time. I used a program called Corel Draw to make them.

Actually I do. I have a Ohio State University bookmark and a Snoopy one. I attended that college and a friend gave me the Snoopy one because she knew I liked the Peanuts comic strip. Some memories really strike a chord with us don't they
