Poetry: Disillusionment disenchants John

John was feeling pretty low, today.
He was disillusioned with the World.
Everything to him seemed wasted time.
He could get no satisfaction from it all.
John sat down now to write a poem.
He felt the World hurled life at him.
He did not want to deal with the pain,
that living a life required of him now.
Life unfurls itself from its twirled state,
only when we meet it with love, not late.
Otherwise, we are lost in its swirling,
all curled up, squeezed into our own fate.
The greatness of any life depends on yourself.
Greatness not lived is not greatness of state.
Creating a life of love requires great love,
not being disillusioned in a sorry state, a cove.

We should not just stay in our own cove of life, and look out from there to try to live a full life. We cannot ever do so.

Yes, messy at times, and stressful too.
I wonder who the real thrower is.....surely not God......

@innertalks Not really sure sometimes. After losing my son I have many doubts.

@innertalks My son took his life at 16.. I think we have talked before. Should never happen to any parent. 16 is still a child, should not be allowed to make this decision. Felt abandoned.
So sorry for the loss of your Mother. Another not fair loss.

that is some strong imagery! love the line
All curled up squeezed into our own fate
that make me wonder what pressure it would take to curl the soul of a human...

Thanks, Scott.
The soul of a Human might be curled up, or in a seed state when its created. Then it must unfold itself, or grow into what its seed should grow into through life experiences with love watering it freely, for optimum growth.
Perhaps only God, could curl a soul, if, he ever wanted to do so, or needed to do so, as he did set it up in that position to begin with, or our own mind, if it is too set up as a steel trap type of a mind, might close off our heart, and so keep our soul curled away, and not growing optimally too.

@DocAndersen Thanks, as long as you do not stay curled up, and find too much comfort from that though....lol....
I was like that before I was born.
I enjoyed the curled-up safe position in my mother, and was more than 3 weeks late being born, and so I was a huge baby, when I was born, a bit bigger then to take on the world, so to speak.....

Thanks, for your appreciative comments.
My poem helped me in my writing about it too, disillusionment.
As, l was also feeling like John.
But, l used another name to distance myself from my own writing a bit too.

Unless we tread waters, we cannot learn swimming and remain afloat.
Likewise to get fulfillment in life we need to embrace it rather than look from a distance.
Though I seek comfort zones, I do not miss an opportunity to seek out action.
Overcoming challenges brings forth real fulfillment and sense of self worth.
John should follow the phrase "Go West, young man, and grow up with the country" .
We all can do that to some extent at least.

Will the swimming skill be of benefit to us on the other side though?
We need to determine what to embrace, and be discriminative about our choices too.
Yes, I agree, as the old saying goes, actions normally speak louder than words.

@Shiva49 Yes, good deeds are always good deeds, and spreading love never does fail.
I agree with that, but when we work for twenty years in a grudging job, without learning much from its daily grind, it is hard not to see it as just a waste of our time.
Twenty years of breaking stones, when we could have seen them as cutting our diamond, and polishing it to shine.
The cutting process is painful though, and we never see the end result, until we do.
Many times I think my life might have been better, if I had been doing something that I love doing, so that it would have been easier for me to spread the love from that position too.

@innertalks It is said good deeds will never go to waste.
It is easy then to get our priorities right.
We touch a few lives positively but also do not forget to taste the good life here as a life of abstinence is only for those who select that path.
Spreading love never fails to make a difference. To stay focused is the best way and not lose hope.

Yes, thanks.
I have experienced this great emptiness too, myself, and once in its hole, it is dark, and barren, and a bit hard to dig our way out of it again too.
