My Sweet and Sour Tuna Dish

Well, it’s been 4 hours now since I have eaten my dinner and I am still full. Not heavily full tummy but the right amount of food that I have consumed.
I made the Filipino style of sweet and sour tuna fish. I first salted the tuna steaks and sprinkled them with fresh lemon juice before frying them in a frying pan with hot oil, both sides.
In another frying pan, I sautéed the slices of onions, garlic, ginger root slices, and then carrots slices. I didn’t have bell peppers so I just omitted them. When the carrots were done, I added vinegar mixed with water and brown sugar just enough for my sweet and sour taste. Then I added soy sauce and a bit of water mixed with a bit of flour just to thicken the sauce. I added spring onion slices, mixed well and added the tuna steaks on top . I didn’t have to put salt as the soy sauce was enough for the taste and the aroma of the ginger roots was good. I served this with boiled rice.
Yes, my craving of Filipino food was satisfied. Until next time of Filipino cooking.
What have you got for dinner, breakfast or lunch? Have you tried sweet and sour tuna dish?
Anyway, thank you and have a nice weekend to all. February is fast gone. Welcome to March.

That sounds delicious.
I make a sweet and sour green bean using vinegar and sugar. I sometimes make it more sour than sweet.

It was delicious @ScribbledAdNauseum. Thank you.
I add brown sugar if my sweet and sour cooking is more sour than sweet. It should be balance.

@thelme55 I like a little more sour as does my family. I've never added brown sugar to balance it out. Lately it has been monk fruit sweetener that I use.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Hubby doesn’t like too much sour taste and so I have to balance the taste. I have not tried that monk fruit sweetener. I don’t even know if we have than here in our supermarkets.

I have no idea what dinner will be, but I do need to snack. Trying to decide if I want to munch on the cheas-its at my desk or actually cook something. Not having one of the best days.

@thelme55 Last night I did a beaf ttip dinner. I think my husband wants hamburger tonight. If so, that will just about clear the fridge of any meat products we have.

Sounds yummy. But no I've not cooked it before. Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to try it with my tweeks to leftover poke, made with raw tuna or ahi.

The poke sauce has sesame oil, so it has a different twist to it. Expanding & learning new recipes is fun.

Not really a lot of vinegar in Filipino cooking. I only know a few of Filipino dishes with vinegar in them like Adobo, Escabetse (sweet and sour dish), fish cooked in vinegar and Kinilaw, raw fish dish.
Roast chicken is very delicious. I love that. Happy End of the month, too @much2say. Thank you.

I don't care for fish; but I imagine that you could use the same recipe for chicken for Sweet and Sour Chicken.

Yes, you could use this for chicken, pork or beef sweet and sour recipe. I mostly do the chicken or pork if I am not craving for fish. Thank you @LindaOHio.
