We Are Never Truly Alone

Last night in the middle of the night as I lay wide awake my mind wandered to the people that are dear to me that have passed on. I found myself smiling as I recalled a friend from work and college. She was a happy go lucky type of girl who dearly loved life. Many, many years ago a small group of us were camping in Pennsylvania. We had a ball. I can still hear her laughter in my mind. A year later she had a brain aneurism by her car in front of her fiancée's house. It was a total shock. There was no warning. I grieved deeply for my friend, I have had her in my mind for years. I can now remember the giggly girl with a smile. When I saw this meme I couldn't believe it. It seemed destined to be used on a post. Do you have someone who was/is dear to you the you can remember with a smile? Here's hoping you have a happy, healthy, and safe day.

That's wonderful you had such a wonderful friend. I've had people pass in my life. Only one brings fond memories, my paternal grandmother.

It is important that we look back at the ones who have left us behind and enjoy the memory of their lives.

Yes I've had too many loved ones pass but each one has left his/her own memory in my heart. As the years have gone by I do miss each and everyone one of them but I can smile with the memories,

Some people do have a very infectious giggle, don't they? I'm sorry you lost your friend. It would have been a huge shock at the time.

@Rashnag Losing member of your family is so hard to forget, same with you when I lost my silent and very resposible father. He kept working all his life just to give us, his children a bright future. When the time for him to retire because of old age, he left us.

We were all shocked. We tried to take comfort in the fact that the doctors believed that she suffered pain for only a few seconds.

I think as we get older we are more likely to take the time to remember those that we have loved and loss.

Me too. I have a very close friend in my schooldays we were so happy then, so many memories shared and captured. After graduation we parted ways and have our own family. I tried to find her in social media but could not find because I didn't know her married name until she decided to place her full name with her maiden's name in the middle and that was how I found her only to know she had few months to live because of cancer.
