Carb Addiction?

Is that a thing? I really think it is. Every time I try to go low carb I end up going back to the carbs. It's hard to say no to them sometimes.
With the carb binge I went on at the end if 2020...and then in February I may have messed up my pancreas even more. I really hope not...but if my numbers aren't lowering with the lack of carbs then I think that is the case.
Going to try to stay as low carb as possible this week...
Making an egg loaf tonight...just sounds good...and it's pretty low carb.

Honestly?
Yeah, I think carb addiction is a thing.
Can you.. I mean would it be possible for you to make meals for five days at a time and stay on track that way? I recommended the same to a friend the other day because her mom is going through some mess with needing to get on a diet.

I am glad to hear that...just wondered if I was being crazy!
I've tried doing that in the past and it didn't really work for me. However...if i were to make a chili, or casserole or something I could eat throughout the week...that might work. The egg loaf will be probably 4 meals worth. Maybe I'll make one of the casseroles tomorrow then. That's a great idea!

@MommyOfEli2013 Yeah, it doesn't have to even be every week.. You could stretch out meals like that and it would be worth it too.
Yeah, I mean sugar addiction is a thing and as far as I'm concerned carbs are in the same family as sugar, so...

@ScribbledAdNauseum well I don't really want to have to freeze stuff because we don't have freezer space lol...but making stuff to last in the fridge 3 to 4 days is fine.
Oh yeah definitely...and carbs all turn into glucose aka sugar lol

@MommyOfEli2013 I know. I’m trying to knock off a few pounds now, too.

Yes, carbs and sweets are addictive. A lady wrote a book about it, Sugar Shock! written by: Connie Bennett

Well addictive is one thing, but this is way beyond that! I don't really read...but I am sure that would be an interesting book.

@MommyOfEli2013 All in moderation. I think that is the key with pretty much everything.

@porwest Nope, I can't have carbs even in moderation! I need them as close to zero as possible. I really should go carnivore

Those kind of carbs are delicious yes (minus the rice lol) but sadly those kind of carbs are like a poison to some.
I don't want to not have them too...but it's either that or insulin for me.

It can be hard to establish a habit and give up carbs. Perhaps instead of trying to stick with low carbs, try to balance them out.

Balance what out exactly? Carbs are like a poison for me...a delicious poison

Yes it probably is. I don't think I could do without potatoes.

It could just be because I am such a picky eater....if I liked veggies then maybe I wouldn't have the issue. I'll never know. But yes, giving up potatoes is very hard! I've gone 2 and a half days without them lol
