Conversation: The Pharmacist and I

Today, I need to go out to buy some antihistamine pills for my skin allergy. To make it clear, I am close to this pharmacist and asked if she has a coronavirus vaccine jokingly. She said, "I am not going to have it." Of course, I asked her why. It is a coronavirus that will be injected into us as claimed. It is better to wait and be back to normal. It seems more and more people are refusing the idea to have any vaccines available in the market. Did you have a conversation with substance today? Can you deal with people who are no sense at all? Note: I am not referring to this pharmacist. We did have a good conversation together today. Image Credit: miro.medium.com

With the vaccine we are not receiving a low dose of the virus, the pharmacist is totally misinformed.

I guess the WHO needs to create awareness about it. Did they do this?

What I hear is once we receive a vaccine from an attenuated virus and many people reject it because of the possibility that the virus can come back to life without our knowledge.

In my humble opinion, if we were injected with it, we are going to create antibodies against it.

@Shavkat That's theoretically, is everyone able to create antibodies. In my opinion, there are some who actually create mutated viruses in their body.

I think my mom is so hesitant to have it. I am sure she needs to see any feedback from the others who had them.

It is not easy to have conversation of substance nowadays due to the overhang of the virus with people getting uneasy with others.

@Shavkat Our life has been turned upside down. Look at the travel and tourism industry. Quarantine everywhere, how to travel?

I would just listen without giving much an input about the topic especially if I disagree about the claim of the person that I had a conversation with.

I have yet to make up my mind about the vaccine although many around me have gone for it. And about having worthless conversations it happens sometimes.

I have a aunt who said she is not getting it. But yet she always gets the flu vaccine. That did not make sense to me.

I heard the most common symptom is having the flu after the vaccine. Perhaps she is afraid to have the vaccine due to secondary complications.

@Shavkat When I wanted to get the flu shot I asked the pharmacist if he did it and he said no so did not get one. We have health funds where you go for shots and blood work. Prescriptions we get filled at the pharmacy. I hope you got what you needed and so glad you are on good terms with the pharmacist near you.

I did have the pills. it can be given since they are over-the-counter pills. No need for a doctor's prescription.

@Shavkat I am glad you can get them over the counter and do not need to talk to a doctor and get a prescription.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. One can't force them. We can try to make them understand if someone close to us thinks like that. Beyond that nothing can be done. Take care

I think it is up to the individual if they have the vaccine or not. But it seems more serious when somebody like a pharmacist is not going to have theirs. They have to work with the public and therefore they may be more at risk of getting the virus. I have heard that people with allergies should check with their doctor if they should have it or not, so maybe she has been advised not to.

I'm pretty sure that picture isn't of you and your pharmacist. You don't look that good and I bet she looks better than that picture. I only see Pretty usually, and she doesn't always make sense when we talk.

Pope Francis was once quoted as saying, "pls vaccinate. Selfishness is when you allow yoursef to become the superspreader of covid 19.
