She seems serious.

Some of you may remember my apartment manager lied to me about getting a renovated apartment. So, yes, I'm stuck here for another year in the same, shall I say, unfortunate, place to live. But she seems to mean business in other areas. She sent out a letter of zero tolerance today. About dog poop, kids being unsupervised, children using obscene language (which IS a problem), trash not making it to the dumpster, and junk outside everyone's front door. It's a fine for all of that, but three strikes and you're evicted. Which is great to me. I didn't know they could do anything about kid's language, but I'm glad they are trying. I have no idea if they talk to their parents in such a horrible way, but they use filthy language around the complex. Being poor doesn't mean you have to be trashy. Hopefully, they'll really be sticklers about the rules.

Living well within the neighborhood, keeping your house clean and training your children well are good values that we need to have in our society.

Hopefully people will adhere to the rules and things will get better. I don't know about the language thing though as kids seems to have filthy mouths these days.

I agree with all the rules. Children running amok and using foul language would definitely be a turn-off.

Being poor didn't give excuse for lots of thing as well. It's the people attitude in general.

I am really glad to know that they are doing something to make the life of those who live in those apartments better.

Well you will just have to stop using obscene and maybe she will renovate your apartment!! Has she given you any reasons why she hasn't? Are you looking for another place?

I don't think they could evict someone for filthy language. It would be nice if they could, but I don't think that's legal. Looking over the list of complaints, I don't know if any of that is a legal reason for eviction. I hope the letter puts the fear of God in them and they clean up their act so it will be nicer to live there.

They said there is a behavior clause in the lease, and you have to at least get warnings before they kick you out. I don't remember a behavior clause although I'm going to ask about it when I sign another lease. You have me curious about it. I know Section 8 has behavior clauses, but not everyone here is on Section 8.

@AmbiePam That's interesting about behavior clauses. It seems it would deal with bad behavior, not language.

Dog poop is also our problem in our new house. It is a nice village with street sweeepers but then in our bermuda grass I saw dog's poop. So infuriating!

Oh, I'm sorry you're in a place you don't want to be. Why can't you move out right away?

Good, I am glad they are taking proactive steps. Did you ever try contacting the management company to find out the reason you can't get a renovated apartment now?

Hopefully everyone will follow the rules. Those kids should have their dirty mouths washed out with soap.
