Update on my Christmas, or Thanksgiving cactus

I have to check to see when the second blooming of this plant began. I know the first round lasted from November to January sometime. I began watering it more during the blooming cycle per a link Ms.Crazy provided for me and then watered it as the instructions stated in between the blooming cycle.
It looks like more of my plant will bloom this time as I keep getting new buds. It began blooming again one month after it quit in January. This round began the middle of February.
I've no idea how long it might last this time, but since I keep getting new buds I'm hopeful it will last several months.
In some countries this is called crabs paw or crabs claw.

My Thanksgiving cactus just finished its second round of blooms. I had brought it inside during the winter because we were continually getting freezes. Of course, when I brought it inside it lost all its blooms because it wasn't getting the full sun it needs. But then a few weeks ago I put it back outside in the sun, and it immediately started blooming again.

Will that's good that it began again. I have mine in a window facing east somewhat and it seems to enjoy that spot. I've never out it outside.
How long it how many months does yours tend to bloom?

@MarshaMusselman Mine doesn't bloom for that long, as I have a heavily shaded yard and it's difficult to find a spot where I can get full sun on the plant. I would say maybe a month at a time when it blooms.

@moffittjc mine might only be in the sun early mornings. Do you water it several times per week? Misting it is good too. Maybe yours needs more water being out in Florida weather, I've not a clue.

It has several names. Here is sold as a Christmas cactus but it can bloom then or another winter holiday depending on the leaf structure it has. Mine is called a Thanksgiving cactus.. In other countries I don't know how the different types are labeled.
Did you see one in a store it here in mylot. Others may have written about these too.

@MarshaMusselman I have one mother plant (my mother in law actually gave it to us). Earlier last year I cleaned it up and put the extra leaves in many other little pots to propagate them. They are growing, but ever so slowly . . . though surprisingly later on some of the small ones decided to have a bloom or two. Those blooms are gone, but the plants are still doing well, just not blooming. But the mother plant has grown full again - and have several buds at the moment. I guess it's the kids who are sleeping

How many plants so you have and do they all have the same shape on the leaves? If not their growth cycle might be different.

@much2say lol. So all of them are from the same plant them. Gotcha.
I only have the one plant at present. It's enough to keep up with.

It bloomed already Oct to mid January. I was surprised when it began over again so soon.

Thank you. It's taking extra effort to get the plant to where it is now.

I've probably had it a good ten years but this is the first year that is done so well. I never watered it enough when it was blooming and when it wasn't.

You know the ropes of raising the Thanksgiving cactus ! Here some call it crab cactus, due to the fact that its stems look like the crab's paw.

Thanks I learned something new about a different name for it. I can see where they get that from but I might check to see if there's another cactus with that name because there are many varieties of this plant and they all have different leaf structure.

Either that or over the course of the next month would be fine too that way it would be longer lasting.
