Gun Free Zones Are Stupid

A man makes a decision. He packs up his 9mm, his Glock, his .38 Special, his 30 yacht six, 400 rounds of ammunition, and sets out on his task. He is going to kill people. He is going to kill LOTS of people. He is on a mission to make a stand and make a point. And nothing is going to stop him. Meanwhile, a responsible concealed carry gun owner goes to a store and has his gun holstered at his side. He gets to the door and reads a sign. "This is a gun free zone. Firearms not permitted." "Oh dang," he says. He goes back to his car, unholsters his gun, and proceeds into the store unarmed. The crazed maniac gets to the same store and reads the same sign. What do you think he does? Goes somewhere else without the sign? Or just walks in anyway with his arsenal and proceeds to shoot the place up and kill everyone? While all the while the responsible gun owners are caught in hellfire with their guns in their cars. More guns. Not less. That is what saves lives.

You are right since most outlaws get scared when they face someone who can take them out faster than you can say "The Flash."

You're right about that guy with a concealed carry license. He should be able to carry it except into a Federal building with a scanning device, etc.

For me it is just one of those "common sense" things.

Those that wanna break the rules will do so. No sign is gonna stop them.

@porwest People see speed limit signs or speed cameras and they still speed. They get speeding tickets and they still speed. They get points and have their license taken away and then restored and they continue to speed. Some never learn.

@lovebuglena But the underlying point is that those who do not obey laws or do not care about laws will not be deterred by them nor deterred by the consequences of breaking them.

They call them criminals for a reason. As I have often said, if signs worked, speed limit signs would be all you would need. No need to have cops hiding under overpasses.
