He stole our milk.

Well he did not actually `steal' it but he took it from our trolley. This is what happened when we went shopping a few days ago. We needed to buy some blue top milk and there were only two left on the shelf , so we put both bottles of milk in our trolley. We did the rest of our shopping and we noticed a strange looking man hovering around behind us. I thought he was just waiting for us to get out of the way so I did not think anymore about it. We did our shopping as usual and payed for it at the till. We did not notice anything unusual until we got home. When we unpacked the shopping we only had one bottle of blue top milk although we had picked up two bottles. I thought we may have left it on the counter after we paid for it. So we looked at the receipt and we had only been charged for the one bottle of milk. I know we had not left it in the trolley , so the only explanation must be that the man we noticed in the shop had taken it out of our trolley before we got to the till.

@Aquitaine24 This could have been his problem, maybe he was not sure of what he was doing.

We also noticed that he was picking products up from the shelves and putting them back in the wrong places.

That was a good thing, but we needed the milk , so we had to buy another one. We went to a different shop to get the replacement.

@rakski We did find a replacement in a local shop, but it was a bit more expensive.

Goodness, he must have been really keen on having the milk. But fancy stealing it out of your trolley.

Maybe he makes a habit of taking things out of trolleys, there are some funny people around these days.

Seems like he badly needed it but what he did was wrong and can not be justified.

@lazydaizee Some people are weird. Some act weird while others have some genuine issues that make them act like that.

@arunima25 People can be strange and we never know what is going on inside somebody else`s head.

I don`t know if I would recognise him again , but if I do , I will avoid this man in future. Maybe let him go in front of us so that we can see what he is up to.

I had a similar experience at the grocery shop two years ago. I placed a bag of grapes in my cart but because there were so many shoppers that time considering Christmas holiday, I left my cart few distance away because I need to look for a glass of pickle at the other section. The supermarket are few more distance and I can't easily go back there because of the crowd. When I returned to the area where my cart was, the bag of grapes is no longer there. How rude the person taking it and I'm mad but the only thing I can do is to go back at the fruit section of the supermarket to take a bag of grapes again.

This sort of thing can be annoying especially when the store is busy. At least you noticed the grapes were gone before you left the shop.

It did feel creepy because we wondered what else he had been touching in our trolley.

He must have really wanted it for some reason. There were other sorts of milk that he could have brought instead of taking ours.
