'What did the cannibal wife gave to her cannibal husband when he went home very late?'. The answer, you guessed it... 'a cold shoulder!'... lol!!! Wasn't that funny? Oh it wasn't ??!!! Anyway, enough with the lame jokes...
Anyway, the term 'cold shoulder' means showing disrespect and not paying attention at all to someone or something. To give someone the 'cold shoulder' is to display coldness or indifference to someone with the intent of hurting that person's feelings. The origin of the phrase refers to a visitor who is very much welcome receiving a warm meal from the host but those who are unwelcome gets only a 'cold shoulder of mutton'.
Back in the day, when I didn't know any better, I gave the cold shoulder to people who slighted me but nowadays I smile and make it appear that I let things pass and when they didn't see it coming I go ahead and have my revenge. Yes, I'm E-V-I-L-!!!
Are you in the habit of giving people who wronged you the 'cold shoulder'?
