Finally Blew Up With My Nuiscance Neighbour

I wrote recently of a neighbour who was quite helpful when I was in hospital but who has now turned into a complete jerk, messing around with my mail, feeling parcels so he can tell me what he thinks is in them, holding letters behind his back while he asks me why i'm getting correspondence from Manchester (where I lived for over 50 years). Even taxi drivers noticed how he tends to come out pretending to water his plants to see what they are up to.
When I come in with shopping he asks which shops and what I bought. Keeps trying to tell me off for having too much stuff - Asked him to get me some 1st class stamps and post a letter for me with one - he came back with 2nd class having decided for me that no one gets first class stamps any more - finally blew up at him after the latest holding my post behind his back game - he decided that I lack a sense of humour and therefore he's not my friend any more and even gave me back the spare key to my flat - pretty sure he ignored at least one attempted mail delivery - worrying as some vital medication packs come through the post for me.

Some people lack boundaries, and the self awareness that comes with it. If you explain it to them and they still do it, then yeah by someone who thought was friend, need to go but if they just did not understand, maybe worth a shot.
If he gave back key, probably knew that is just the way they are and they not changing for anything. I never got stuff like that. What is fun about reading people's private stuff. Its private for a reason and unless they being shady I do not care. Everyone has secrets you should let them if you want to survive in this world.

Not like he is finding any earth shattering revelations about me - he reminds me of this comedy sketch character

You sure don't need toxic people like that in your life.

@arthurchappell You would be more okay if I were there. I would love to handle that nut job. I would get Harry Knuckles onto him.

@paigea I suspect not as he hasn't had time since the dispute - but he knows the number to my key safe so may well change that soon

That was probably overdue. At least it's over now.

@xander6464 don't think he would actually steal but I do lock my mail box now as a precaution

@arthurchappell At least he gave the key back. He can be annoying now but not really dangerous. Unless he tries stealing your mail...Are your boxes locked?...and I assume that's a serious crime there like it is here, so he probably wouldn't do it.

@Fleura He just avoids me now - another neighbour told me the nuisance has owed him money for some time - didn't get any details though

Whew! He really is a trial. You are good to be done with him. He is way too invasive.
