Good news and bad news

The good news is I have booked my Covid vaccinations - yay!
The bad news is I booked them in the wrong place : (
I previously received two invitations by text message from my local GP practice, asking me to follow a link. I wasn’t completely sure about that at first, so I didn’t do anything. However after checking that the link seemed legitimate I still didn’t want to faff about on the little phone screen and I was too lazy to type out the rather long link in my web browser on the laptop.
Then I received an email from the NHS inviting me to book by going to the NHS website. That was much simpler so I went through that and have booked the two vaccinations, three months apart.
Only after receiving confirmation did I realise that the invitations were different - the ones from the GP surgery invited me to attend there, while the one from the NHS invited me to attend one of their regional vaccine centres.
So I could have just walked 5 minutes down the road but now I’ll have to drive about 20 minutes each way instead. Bother.
I’m just hoping it’ll be a nice day and then perhaps I can go the scenic way by bicycle instead.

There is that - but if I go via the 'scenic route' over the river it's actually only 3 miles. I haven't heard of people having side effects that bad - I could always walk home. Or if I was really stuck I could call my partner to come and collect me I guess!

On the whole, it is good news.Don't know if the one from the GP and the one from the NHS are the same brand.

It is wonderful that you have them scheduled.

You were so lucky to get two offers for bookings. I do know which one you went to at this point.
For me, it was an online madhouse. I checked in after a while and found someone’s cancellation. That’s how I got my appointment. So what if it was a 36 minute drive away. It was in my hometown and we took a drive down memory lane while there “ twice!

I too have registered but there was no choice. When I make up my mind I will get to the centre of my choice.

20 minute drive isn’t that far anyway. But of course it would have been better if I you could just have taken a walk.

lol Yes well my case was slightly different but I ended up driving over 20 miles on each occasion to two different locations. I hope it is a nice day so you can ride your bike.

I'm glad your shots are booked, a twenty minute drive isn't too bad. My second one is scheduled for April 1, then I'm all done.
