Help: I am planning not to...

...attend my job interview online on Monday. I researched the company's background and remembered that one of my former colleagues was working here before. I just want to make my life easier and messaged her on Facebook Messenger this afternoon today. According to her, she resigned from this company last year and the salary is not competitive anymore. It sounds not worth it to apply as a proofreader in this company. But then, there is something deep inside that I need to practice professionalism. Personally, there is no wrong if not attending it. It means I am not interested anymore. Are there any fantastic ideas to enlighten me? Is it bad to be a no-show with this job interview? Image Credit: myhousecleaningbiz.com

Things change and it's been a year since your friend resigned. I think you should attend the job interview and if you aren't happy with their offer, you can try to negotiate or decline.

I agree. She also said to check if there are some changes. If it does not work for me, I will just let it go.

Hmmm I guess. But there is nothing wrong if you attend to it, I mean we never know if they will give you a much better salary now. But maybe that job is meant for somebody else. If you want o have a competitive salary, try online, I heard a lot of testimonies of Virtual Assistant who work part time who are now earning 100k to 500k and others is now earning 1M. Good to be true, but if you are going to watch their story - it is not easy for them also, but they pursue and did not stop by their fears or anything. Just sharing. God bless.

@luisadannointed Thank you for the encouragement. It seems my current company is really having a big issue in China.

If you do not like the job offer I do not think there are any more reasons for you to pursue it. The only reason why you go to their interviews is that you wanted them to show your interest in joining them but if you don't have that eagerness anymore then you might as well not join their invitation to be interviewed.

Well, I underwent the exams with this company today. Since I am not doing anything this morning, I decided to give them a try.
...two-hour exam today. Hopefully, I nailed them.[em]w00t[/em] Regardless, I am still rethinking this job since I was informed that it is an office-based...

Attend the interview with the intent of getting the job. Then ask about the salary and compensation package. It might be something that you'd consider.

I was hoping to wake up early. I am working a bit late tonight. Waking up so early the following day will be unlikely for me. But I will try my best to attend this appointment.

If you're not going to attend the interview, I think you should let them know and cancel, rather than just not turn up.

I guess I need to attend it. I will feel guilty if not doing it since I confirmed the said appointment.

If you no longer want to attend interviews at the company, just tell them frankly.

If you're no longer interested, just inform them to cancel the interview. It's a good work ethic too.
