At my job I have health insurance that I pay every month. There are some expenses like dentist, eyeglasses and so on that they refund me a part of the money I spent.
Last month my kids bought new glasses and I sent the receipts of the amount paid to the human resources so they can refund some money based on those receipts.
As I haven't received the refund yet I called HR and I was informed that my son's receipt is lost, they don't find it
Luckily I took a copy before sending it to them but now I must go back to the oculist store for them to put the stamp and confirm that the copy is a duplicate from the original receipt.
This is not the first time they lose receipts but it is the first time with me. For Christ Sake they must take responsability!!

Cancer is serious. Why would they leave you hanging for an entire year? Something is not right. Don't they know that they need to catch cancer early to be able to treat it?

I think they lose things on purpose. I know that if I send something to an agency, I have to keep photocopies, at least three sets. They will lose things over and over and we have to keep sending again. They did not lose anything, they tossed or shredded them.

That was very unprofessional of them to lose the receipt especially since this is the second time. I would ask to speak to whoever in charge and explain this should not be happening. I am not mad at my insurance but the dental practice. It is always something!!!

@nela13 Maybe you need to keep double checking on them. Call every couple of days to make sure receipts are being processed. If they get sick of you, they probably won't lose your receipts again..

I am very sorry that you are going thru this.
My hubby used to work for a company where the HR department looked after the benefits until........there were multiple complaints, not unlike your own, and there was an investigation launched. The head of that department was picking and choosing what receipts she was submitting. Needless to say she was fired and banned from working in that field.
Bear that in mind, keep your ears open for similar incidents, you may have to go further up the chain to get results.
