More Animal talk : Racoon Dogs / myLot

While most dog species are now in a mostly(not always)cordial relationship with Man, and many as pets, there are some remarkable ones still out in the wild. Here is this Racoon dog, about whom I read about in an Animal encyclopaedia book. It can climb trees !! Some texts say that it is more like foxes. Yet they also resemble Racoon but are different. @JudyEv I think they are wild but not sure if still anyone keeps them as pets.

They are kept on breeding farms but only for their fur. If kept in a home they become very aggressive. They aren't big enough to really hurt someone but can and will bite and scratch.

It's an interesting creature. If I am not wrong, it's nocturnal and a hunting one

@arunima25 Yes it is an omnivore. It does hunts insects and other creatures.

@arunima25 The fact is that our schools curriculum are so heavy that after some age, kids find it hard to devote time to such interests. Yes, some kids do excel in Sports, Dance, Music etc but they have to put in extra efforts. For me, it was mainly studies, else Cricket and watching movies on Doordarshan and later on Cable(when in College). I even stopped watching Wimbledon and French Open after 9th or 10th.

@arunima25 We do plan for online art classes but there are not many suitable teachers available.
