The chicken cordon bleu didn't make it...

... to the photoshoot! Heh.
The girls and I made chicken cordon bleu for the first time and it was a hit. Too bad I never got to take photos for documentation. Everyone was starving and ate the dish as soon as it landed on the table. My 13 year old pounded the chicken fillets, I did the stuffing and rolling, and my 10 year old did the frying. We were so proud of ourselves.
Have you tried making chicken cordon bleu?

No, I haven't. Should try that sometime. Mibght bake it instead, though.

@almostoveryou I try to avoid heavily oiled foods. It doesn't always sit well on my stomach.

Baking it might be a better option. That's less oil for you.

@kaylachan I know what you mean. I suffer from GERD so I try to limit my intake of oily foods as well.

We had to do the default recipe as it's our first time. Thinking of modifying it to something like chicken kiev and stuff the fillet with ricotta and pesto. Then pan fry in olive oil. Yum.

I find it tedious to make so I dragged in my daughters to help me in the kitchen.

I've never made it, but sounds like you all did really well with it.

It was our first try and it tasted okay. A little bland though because I forgot to salt the chicken!

I didn't want to wear myself out. Besides I thought it might be a good opportunity to teach them something new.

This is my only son's favorite but I seldom prepare it for him because I have been very busy.

My daughter has been asking for this for the longest time. And since it's hard to find this on a take-out basis, I decided to just make at home. Does your son ask for this dish often?

It's pretty cumbersome to make. It's usually just served during parties.

Thank you. Not exactly the healthiest dish for chicken fillet. I'm thinking of making chicken kiev next time.
