My weekend was pretty good, lot of downtime just relaxing and getting a few things done around the house. Was nice to have the extra day off and I really have not done much today. I did laundry and cleaned up a little. I took a little nap and finished watching a movie but that is about it for the day. Kind of sad that I have to go to work tomorrow. I hear that they freed that ship from the canal. I really want to know how that happened in the first place. Was the guy drunk, sleeping or just an idiot? Who knows maybe we will never know. Hope you all have had a good day. The weather is nice today so that is a good thing too.

Didn't see news about ship, what happened? My weekend was quite with overcast clouds, so brought on laziness.

@oahuwriter I surprised you didn't hear it was all over the news for a while. I guess they did get it freed and out of the way.

@Bensen32 Wow! Still no news about it. Did the ship get unstuck?

It's amazing that with such a narrow canal, that they didn't have emergency procedures or a contingency plan in place to deal with situations like.

@Bensen32 That's a very good question. I know what they'd say as their answer....because this has never happened before...but I don't think that's a valid answer. You should always have a contingency plan in places. Especially in the Suez Canal, where 10% of the world's trade passes through there.

Right, how do they not have a plan in place already?

@moffittjc Right, why not have a plan even if it doesn't work cause it's never happened before at least you have something to try right away.

Yesterday I got a lot of online work done and I decided to do some laundry since I was going to stay this week at my uncle's house. I was wanting to set up my computer, but I discovered I left the power cord at home.

It's pretty amazing that just one ship can jam up such a vital canal.

@JudyEv Yeah, that is what I heard, seemed like a long time to block up the canal and for them to get it free.
