Funny: 'What are other smelly animals?'

My last class online was so slow in answering some of my questions. She did not open her video cam and I can hear fingers dribbling on the keyboard. I know that she can answer this simple question. The common phrase that I am hearing is 'I don't know, teacher.' I am tired of answering my own questions to her. I gave an example, a skunk. Me: Come on, you can do it. Student: I really don't know, teacher. Me: Do you have a pet? Student: Yes, I have a dog. Me: Okay, if you did not take your dog a bath, what will happen to it? Student: It will be a smelly dog. That's the best thing that I can do for her to participate in the class. She is not a Ms. Know--It-All, but answered my question. Image Credit: thumbs.gfycat.com

I am trying my best because the class is being videoed and it will be a ground for termination.

@Shavkat Your bosses will certainly approve of what you're doing to help your students cope with their lessons

@gamayngbaki I have been working with them for more than 7 years now. They never take the side of their virtual teachers. That's the reason why I am just ignoring the facts that there are students who are so rude.

Is it that you're a slow teacher or that the student isn't interested in listening/working with you? Are you not allowed to mark them down when they are doing something other than classwork during class?

We can only give feedbacks every after class online. I can do some comments that they are on focused. This particular student turned to be bad. I don't know where it is coming from.

@DaddyEvil I can do it but not brutally honest.

@Shavkat So the comments can't be that the student appeared to be playing a video game instead of paying attention in class?

Yes, I do. It is medium instruction when teaching them.

It is hard if the student is not focused during the class and they are doing other things.
