Monday-Monday!

Today was a busy Monday for us. We both had errands in town and the next town over so we decided to do them all at one time instead of taking two vehicles.
We knocked out the two stops ing our little town first which were the drug store and the post office.
Next stop was Tractor Supply. Hub needed a new belt for mower. Yes, same mower that he replaced belt for at the end of last summer. That belt was thrown off four times in his first attempt to mow the yard so he is on a mission to find a new belt. (And btw, the belt did not fit. It was about 3 to 4 inches too short. So back to the drawing board.
I was surprised to see that all of the baby chicks were sold out. That is very unusal. Next stop was the Co-op for layer pellets for the chickens. They had baby chicks and I took a peek at them. They only had Rhode Island Reds and Barred Rocks.
Next and the last stop was Walmart to pick up the grocery order. I really like not having to go inside and shop for groceries now. They were out of a few things I had on the list but we will survive. I will miss my yogurt though.
Tomorrow I have to go pick my aunt up and take her to the doctor's office for tests. My cousin is out of leave to take off and I'm going to help her out. I do belive this is the same test that was used for my mom's ALZ diagnosis, or at least from the description my cousin told me. It is sad to see older relatives in a health decline.
I'l be very glad to stay home Wednesday and hope to feel like getting outside and tilling the garden while hub hopefully mows the yard. His goal tomorrow is to find a belt that fits.

@CarolDM Yes, finally tomorrow! I started on the laundry just a few minutes ago. I have several loads to do. I will leave the rest for tomorrow. It may be a rainey day since we have I believe a 70% chance of rain tomorrow. I may have to entertain myself with craft projects!!

my grandfather used to say there are two belts I love. The one around my waist and a one of good whiskey. Fan belts I am not a fan of!
he was a hoot!

That is a good saying! We (all the kids) were afraid of my maternal grandfather but as I got older I realized he was just trying to relate to all of us. He preferred to be left alone and if you got to close you risked him trying to burn you with his pipe or acting like he would, or catch you and give you a rash burn with his whiskers. Sometimes he would talk his belt off and lash out at us as we went by him. Of course, it sometimes became a game to see who was the bravest. I'm sure having all the grandkids there at once was a bit overwhelming vs. just him and granny there.

@kareng it is always funny when we look back at the people of the past in our life. My grandfather was always wonderful to his family, but all his neighbors were scared of him. He was a justice of the peace

@DocAndersen Yes! That is also true of how we thought of our maternal grandmother. She was awesome and worked into her 60's full time! My grandfather was injured in a logging accident when he was young, I believe in his late 20's or 30's. So she was the entire bread winner for the family with three children. But on weekends when we visited, she always had a spread of food for us and often took us shopping for a little surprise! I remember when she bought me my first "short" dress. My mom couldn't argue with her that it was too short. That was always my favorite dress! It was actually mid-thigh so not that bad. My mom always preferred me in a right above the knee length but that wasn't the style at all then. Oh and she didn't drive. She would walk to the store or to town which was several blocks away and back. She had a hard life that was not seen in the eyes of a child back then.

I hope your hubs can find the proper belt. Unfortunately we are now the relatives that are aging! Are you looking for more little chicks?
