I´m trying to kill a fly with electricity.

A few months ago I bought an electric fly killer. It was similar to the manual ones but a lot more heavy and the flies die with a sound. I had seen theim being used at the farmers market and it was very inexpensive so I got the toy. Humberto tried to kill a plage of moths in the mountains when we went there but the moths needed more electricity to die. And I brought mine home and did not use it until today a giant and noisy fly came in. And so I tried it. I still think that if you know how to play tennis, the manual devise is better. I needed a lot of electric charges to kill the bug. Have you seen those thingies?

I've seen electric ones but not ones that use sound. Good luck!

There are a lot being sold here for around 3 dollars, I think they are designed more for mosquitoes but they work on flies as well but does not kill them instantly sometimes. The problem with them is the cheap batteries don't last very long.

@marguicha it has a built in rechargeable battery inside to covert electricity to DC, 110-220V AC current in our outlet plug is too strong and would cause electrocution. The power cord goes to a converter converting AC to DC that would charge the battery. I had operated on a couple of them and even tried to modify it or replace the rechargeable battery to a better one.

I've heard of this - I have never tried it myself. We practice our aim with the regular manual fly swatter .

Is it like a tennis racket, but with a battery operated mesh in the center? I have one of those.

I didn't know about those! Apparently I would have to get bigger ones for moths. I have to do something, because we get a lot of moths here and they're annoying as hell. I might just put up some strips this year or something. My kitty loves to toy with them, but I'd just rather not have them around.

We had one that sat on the wall and the light attracted bugs to it. Moths used to make a bit of a smell but otherwise it worked well.

A fly gets into my house every 2 or 3 weeks. This is more a toy.
