Today was my last day in class. Part 2. Fire brigade came....

So today was exciting and interesting for so many reasons. We gave presents to our teacher to thank her, we had some great food and snacks. Finished off some work and filled in Course Completion Forms. We also received gifts from our teacher too! Which was very sweet! It shows in the photo what our teacher gave us. She gave us a book full of nursery rhymes, bubble wand (to which she suggested we use if a child was ever feeling down or for us to blow bubbles for ourselves if we were down), a certificate from our teacher (not official certificate, just a personalised one from her), some chocolates and tea bag (also if we want to relax / if stressed). So a little bit after lunch, we were sitting in class working on something, and this alarm started to go off. We all looked at our teacher, her name is Tracey by the way, as we didn't know what was going on. We have all done the drill before but usually we are told so we were confused as was Tracey. As we were evacuating, one of my friends had a plate of food and she said "Yeah I got my priorities right." I laughed so much. We went outside, got counted etc. Another friend yelled out "I saved the prawn crackers!" Stood there for a while and as me and my friends were talking about what could be going on, we heard sirens. It was funny because 4 of us, including me all said "oh sh*t" at the very same time. As if to say "Oh something IS going on." Anyway long story short, turns out it was just an issue with the electrical system. So when all was safe we went back inside and got back to work. About an hour went by, the alarm went off again. We all looked at Tracey again and her face she gave that "Not again" look. We stood up, I said to my friend "Oh grab the chips please!" So we had something to do down there lol And she did! But a public announcement was made to say he accidentally touched a button and all was fine. It made us laugh actually. I still have a little bit more work do to and once that's all marked, I will get my certificate some time after that. Thank you kindly for reading. This day was so awesome and I will never forget it. I am still quite busy with my work and I will get to outstanding notifications as soon as I can. PART 1:
So today was my last day in class. No more opening new Units, no more assignments or projects but there is still a handful of us who need more time with Prac...

i remember the last day of my first year of teaching. We did a fun activity where the kids got to ask me the questions instead of me asking them. One kid said to me " Mr A why are all the kids scared of you?" How do you answer that? I was the only male teacher in the school. So I started a tradition with that class. I had them all stand-up and raise their right hands. "I solemnly swear that the answer to the question is Mr A mean, is always oh yes he is. If anyone ever asks you, Mr. A is the meanest teacher you ever had." I did that with every class i ever taught the last day of school!

Now you know why you have the drills. I remember once at a school the fire alarm continuously went off all afternoon. I was not a teacher or aide then. I was a driver for special education students and classes but that day I had to take a little autistic girl a couple of places. The alarm was really hard on her. So you have one more experience to add to your expertise.

@GardenGerty You're right about that! Drills are very necessary just in case an emergency occurs. Poor little darling! I have noticed this happening in Kindy where loud sounds bother certain children. I had only known of one little boy who was autistic and he seemed fine with loud sounds but his twin sister really didn't like them at all. She would cover her ears until it went away. I felt so bad and tried to make the noises stop (if it was coming from another child or something I could control).

@Treborika I do not have a job right now. But I wouldn't mind trying to get a job in childcare since I am qualified.
